Finally had sometime to detail the ride. Between work, being newly married and being a new homeowner, can’t say I was comfortable with spending good amount of time detailing (But now i hit the one year mark in Marriage so I’m all good now.......right?!)
I’m an Adam’s junkie so used their Clay bar, then Paint Sealant, Glaze & Buttery Wax....not to bad for 4 hours. There are definitely some swirls in the hood (I bought the car CPO), but I’ve been only hand detailing, so think I need to invest in a Orbital Polisher.
Dat Reflection!

Thanks! Realizing how bad the iPhone camera is as well...what bad depth the pictures have (or it’s just the photographer..)

Nice one fella, looks very nice. I like fine fleck metallics over regular metallics. In medium to low light they look like a solid colour but when the sun comes out the paint starts to come alive.
I like Adams Gloss2Guard for red paint and their Invisible Undercarriage spray for giving a nice sheen to the inside of the wheel arches.
Rather than a rotary, try a DA. A rotary is less forgiving and may cause holograming (more visible on dark coloured cars) if you don’t keep the machine moving sufficiently.

Ah good to know, thank you. Yeah I want to get whatever is fairly dummy proof so i don’t cause any major damage.

DAs are move forgiving but equally as capable.
Also important is the right pads and polishes.
Start with a fine polish and soft foam pad, and then work up.
Ignore the ‘jewelling’ at the bottom of the chart.

It works in your favor if you do the wife’s car first. I guess I should say spouse’s car first, can’t make assumptions these days.

Smart man, I think you might have me confused with E90M3. Happens all the time. We are both in GA now, so to answer your question.....It’s ok. Would be a lot better if there wasn’t a heroin/meth epidemic where I live. Scary times.

AH, Silly me, still love your car though....my short term dream car in fact. When I was single living in Boston i was so close to buying one in Jerez Black). Yeesh, i’m up in the Philly burb’s and it’s becoming rampant in the nicer burbs here as well (There was just a massive bust yesterday)

Definitely get one someday. IMO, almost no modern cars provide the same level of feedback and driving dynamics. I ran into a guy yesterday using his baby (strapped to him in a baby carrier) to beg for money. He was feeding his probably 4 month old Cheetos. Poor kid doesn’t have a chance.
Sorry, I’m just extra negative about this place today because of that encounter.

I love Adam. I have used Chemical guys and use some of their products Adam’s doesn’t offer. I don’t dislike their products, just have a bias towards Adams.

Maybe I’ll give it a wash next time I’m in the market for something new.
